Its the start of a new month and we are all raring to go. Our Senior Consultant, the excellent Louise O’Brien, has just kicked the month of with a quick snapshot training session designed to remind us the things we know we know and why we are different to our Competitors.
For this session she used points made by Greg Savage – The Savage Truth, Nine changes that recruiters must make – now! Thankfully we all agreed that we don’t need to make nine changes but we did all agree that there were some changes that we all needed to make.
The one change that we all agreed as a business that we are going to make is to say to Clients and Candidates – I can’t recruit for you / or place you…
We are going to be more demanding of what the brand Recruitment Solutions (NW) Ltd means and also our own personal brands. If as a Client you aren’t able to to properly brief us re the role that you want us to recruit, then we won’t take that role. If as a Candidate you are unwilling to meet with us or as a half way house measure Skype or face time then we won’t take you on our books.
Recruitment is a complicated process. As a Recruitment Consultant what we do is good – good for business if we are allowed to do our job properly and good for Candidates if you allow us to do our job properly.
We all agreed that we are going to accept only the right ‘type’ of Business and Candidate – people who treat us as equals and with respect.
As a business we really value what we do – repeat business is a major KPI. We want to add ‘value’ to Clients and Candidates – it is not just about the job fill.
Recruiters and Recruitment as a profession in my opinion doesn’t need to change as such it just needs to go back to being a PROFESSION – where our opinion matters and is valued and where we treat Clients and Candidates with the same respect that we deserve!
Lets crack on!
